Frequently asked questions
What people ask before the first session. The answers are given in full: nothing is hidden behind expandable lines.
Whom do you not take on for a consultation?
I do not work with children under 18: my approach requires awareness and analytical thinking. I also do not work with cancer patients or with severe psychiatric diagnoses: in these cases the emotional problem has gone too far, and as a rule the person is not ready to become aware of its causes.
How many sessions are needed?
It is impossible to say exactly: everything depends on how serious the issue is, on your openness and on your readiness to engage in the work. In some cases a noticeable result comes after just one session, but for a lasting effect, independent practice between sessions matters. I am almost sure that after the first session the answer to this question, as it applies to your own situation, will become obvious to you.
Can I come with my spouse, my child or someone close to me who has gotten out of hand?
Most often I work individually. Joint consultations do happen, but they become effective from the moment complete trust has formed between the two people. In our system we always look for the problem in ourselves, so bringing your husband, wife or child “so that I can have a talk with him or her” is completely pointless.
But what if the problem really is my partner?
We cannot change other people, however hard we try, but we can stop “interacting” with the problem the way we are used to, and stop being the answering half of it. As soon as your inner position changes, the situation in the relationship transforms naturally.
Will you help me mend my relationship with my spouse, parents or children?
Yes, God willing: this is my main specialization. Any problem, be it health, finances, self-esteem or a lost sense of meaning in life, is always connected with relationships. The key to improving them lies in changing how you perceive yourself, and then others. This approach works because by changing ourselves we also change how the world responds to us.
How do you work with childhood trauma and low self-esteem?
Instead of “learning to live with it,” we look for a fundamental turn in your attitude to what happened. We explore how the experience you went through helped shape your personality. If in the course of deep work a person finds the strength to give conscious thanks for the trials they have been through, their life, without exaggeration, opens anew. This path requires inner maturity.
What if my problem seems unsolvable to me?
Each of us faces challenges that God sends: they are a necessary condition for our spiritual and personal growth. But the world is governed by certain laws, and no problem is unsolvable. It is just that the solution may come not in the way we expect, but through inner changes that lead to a new understanding of ourselves and our lives.
Everyone tells me to pull myself together and sort out my problems on my own
Turning to a psychologist is not weakness; it saves years of your life. Imagine trying to repair a complex mechanism without a diagram or tools: even with enormous persistence you would spend years searching for a solution that a professional would find much faster.
It is hard for me to talk about my problems with a stranger
I understand very well how hard that is. But an effective life takes courage. Practice shows that early in the first session most people already feel relief: the tension eases with the understanding that you are not alone with your problem.
